(2) For supporters of the project:
We are looking specifically for these items as gift packs to the children in Nepal. Each child will recieve a gift pack which contains:
5 x pencils, 2 x ballpoint pens, 1 x eraser, 1 x ruler, 1 x sharpener and 1 x exercise/jotter book.
As we are expecting to have about 150 kids, we would need MINIMUM:
- 750 x pencils (the more, the merrier!)
- 300 x ballpoint pens
- 150 x erasers
- 150 x rulers
- 150 x sharpeners
- 150 x exercise/jotter books
I sincerly hope that the items donated to us are in good working/functional conditions. Would strongly appeal for partial sponsorship for these stationery. The quantities listed here are minimum. Hope to collect more so to distribute to other children who are unable to attend the school there.
These stationery are usually taken for granted. We lose them carelessly, too often, in school or in office. And then we just buy new ones for replacement. Many days or months later, these items will re-appear again. And then, we just repeat the cycles, over and over again.
Have you ever thought of how it feels if the stationery are "endangered" or scarce? If you can imagine, that would most probably be what most of the kids in Nepal feel.
As we will be conducting lessons there, we will also need teaching resources such as mahjong papers (aka butcher sheets), markers, coloured construction papers, masking tapes and blu tacs. If you do have any of these stationery to spare, we appreciate your contributions greatly!
I understand from some friends that they have old clothes to give away. I thank all of you for your kind intention. However, due to baggage limits, it would be quite challenging to bring too much stuff there. For this maiden trip, we would like to focus only on education. Maybe, and most probably, we would be glad to bring clothes and such to them in the future. Thank you, nevertheless.
**A box of pencils? A box of pens? A dozen of exercise books? Anyone?**
